Cumbria Beekeepers Association supports members and prospective members who wish to train in all aspects of beekeeping. The Local Branches all run a beginners course each year, with both practical and theory sessions.

Cumbria Association has appointed a Examination Secretary to coordinate training and assessment across the county, Please use the Training Contact Form if you are interested in finding out about training with Cumbria Beekeepers Association.

Beginners Course

The Beginners’ course is designed to provide people interested in beekeeping with the knowledge and practical skills they will need to get started. Most of the local branches run Beginners Courses, and also welcome beginners to their regular apiary meetings where they can gain more experience and meet some interesting beekeepers.

Basic Beekeeping Assessment

Cumbria Beepkeeping Association will also arrange for members to be assessed for the BBKA Basic Beekeeping Certificate at the association apiary at Walby.

Advanced Training & Assessment

The BBKA has a series of training and assessment courses in all aspects of beekeeping, honey production, show judging etc.
